New Album! From Silence / from Silence on Prospero Classical
Music between sound and silence – works by Berio, Feininger, Kurtág, Hosokawa, Glass, and others
With her new solo album “From Silence” released by Prospero Classical, Alexandra Sostmann opens a sound space for inner reflection. The carefully curated selection brings together works by Luciano Berio, Lyonel Feininger, György Kurtág, Toshio Hosokawa, Philip Glass, and others – composers who seek the dialogue between sound and silence in very different ways.
The recording is characterized by great interpretative clarity and depth. Between reduction, repetition, and resonance, a musical meditation emerges that makes time and space newly experienceable.
“Sostmann has access to depth; she plays as if in a different state of consciousness that keeps the listener’s attention away from external distractions and, through silence, provides access to a world that invites deep meditation.” Remy Franck, Pizzicato
